VLAH project update, the first Romanian armored vehicle: the chassis design has been finalized
A new important step in the implementation of BlueSpace Technology’s most ambitious project: the design phase of the first Romanian armored vehicle has been completed.
VLAH is a state-of-the-art combat vehicle that we are developing together with our partners from the company Zetor Engineering.
“I am pleased to announce an update in the VLAH project, namely the completion of the design of the chassis. After the feasibility study, the preparation of all the 1D, 2D and 3D documentation, we will now carry out the functional tests for our most important product, the first 4×4 armored fighting vehicle produced in Romania”, declared Constantin Pintilie, founder of BlueSpace Technology.
The vehicle is designed according to the new defense strategy. The main components of the vehicle according to the feasibility study are from established European manufacturers such as the Mercedes MTU 4R 106 engine, the ZF8AP 1200S automatic transmission and the ZF VG750/400 transfer case from ZF Friedrichshafen AG, and the ADS AX60LP-HP axles from Advanced Design Solution s.r.o.
VLAH is intended primarily for the defense industry in Romania, being created with a major advantage: production and final assembly at local level, which translates into lower acquisition costs.
For the future technology equipment, there will be the possibility to add an electric motor to create a hybrid and, at the same time, quiet machine and the safety of the crew will be ensured by increased mobility and improved situational awareness on the battlefield with the help of integrated sensors.
The project started in 2022 and is due for completion in 2024.
