“It is absolutely necessary for a portion of the budget allocated to the Army to be directed toward developing Romanian-made products and solutions, manufactured by domestic companies. He also outlined concrete solutions that could decisively accelerate change:

Constantin PINTILIE, CEO of BlueSpace Technology, participated on Wednesday, November 6, at the inaugural edition of the “Cyber, Space and IT&C” conference, organized as part of the Black Sea Defense, Aerospace and Security BSDA event, held at the Military Circle. He delivered a speech during the panel discussion on “Emerging and Disruptive Technologies,” focusing on their crucial role in reshaping the defense industry.
“Do you know what underpins the development of all these emerging and disruptive technologies? Research. The relationship between technologies and research is profound and interdependent, as research provides the scientific foundation, while emerging and disruptive technologies stimulate new directions in research.
What can we say about Romanian research? Over the last 30 years, significant resources have been and are likely still being allocated to the research sector, but without ongoing dialogue and effective coordination between the education or research system and representatives of Romanian industry. What does this result in? Only projects without impact, initiatives that fail to deliver visible results for the national economy,” stated Constantin Pintilie.
The CEO outlined six reasons why private companies struggle to innovate: a lack of predictability in public procurement, no trust in Romanian products, a real risk of underperformance stemming from the research component, very high costs associated with applied research, the absence of a local production culture, and the fact that trading is easier than manufacturing in Romania. He also discussed BlueSpace Technology’s products.
“Do you know how long Romanian technological products are guaranteed? BlueSpace Technology provides a 10-year warranty for its products manufactured in Romania. In the CyberSec domain, we are in the process of certifying hardware equipment such as diodes that provide database backups or can transfer documents between two classified networks, and an IP encryptor—an open platform designed for Romanian government authorities or civilian applications,” stated Constantin Pintilie.
The Cyber, Space and IT&C BSDA 2024 conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defense and the Communications and Informatics Command of Romania, bringing together industry representatives and government decision-makers with expertise in this field.

BlueSpace Technology, the only Romanian company accredited at NATO level as a TEMPEST manufacturer, warmly welcomed the visit of the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism, Ștefan-Radu Oprea.
The purpose of the visit to the company’s factory was to identify the production capacity within the private industry, as well as the ways in which technological and industrial cooperation operations in the defense and security sectors could be carried out. Discussions also focused on collaboration opportunities between the private and public sectors. CEO Constantin Pintilie, together with the leadership team, presented the company’s latest projects.
“We were pleased with the initiative and interest shown by the Minister in visiting our factory and getting to know our team and products up close. We presented our vision of producing Romanian technology locally, the international partnerships we are involved in, and the strategy we apply by acquiring foreign technology to use in local production, which helps us save time. The visit included a tour of the company’s production and research facilities, including the two NATO and EU-accredited TEMPEST evaluation laboratories, the most advanced in Romania. Minister Ștefan-Radu Oprea interacted directly with engineers and specialists involved in current projects.
The discussions during the visit also addressed the possibilities for expanding public-private partnerships in key areas such as cybersecurity, electronic warfare, and security intelligence, as well as common working strategies.

BlueSpace Technology, the only Romanian company accredited as a NATO-level TEMPEST manufacturer, participated for the third time as an exhibitor at the largest defense industry event in the Black Sea region—Black Sea Defense, Aerospace and Security International Exhibition (BSDA). The event, held at the Romaero Băneasa platform, brought together over 400 global manufacturers.
The first day of the exhibition featured the premiere presentation of the VLAH chassis, Romania’s first light armored ATBTU vehicle. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Romania, Marcel Ciolacu, the President of the Romanian Senate, Nicolae Ciucă, the Minister of National Defense, Angel Tîlvăr, and the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism, Radu Oprea.
“VLAH is a 4×4 armored vehicle weighing 10 tons, the first to be fully designed and developed in our country, in partnership with Zetor Engineering, a globally renowned Slovak manufacturer. Our vision is to save time by acquiring technology from abroad and using it to rapidly produce locally,” said Constantin Pintilie, CEO of BlueSpace Technology.
The Slovak Ambassador to Romania, H.E. Peter Hatiar, was also present at the BlueSpace Technology stand. Additionally, on the first day of the event, CEO Constantin Pintilie delivered a technical presentation during a session organized by the Romanian Naval Forces.
On the second day of the exhibition, BlueSpace Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the British company Marshall, in the presence of the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Romania, H.E. Giles Matthew Portman. The event was also attended by Mark Goldsack, Director of UK Defence and Security Exports, as well as industry specialists, experts, and media representatives.
Marshall has a history of over 100 years in the international defense industry. Under the signed official document, the companies will explore collaboration opportunities to jointly develop innovative solutions for military clients.
“By combining the British team’s advanced expertise in military shelter manufacturing with our TEMPEST competencies and capabilities, we aim to quickly develop a prototype for a containerized military solution. We are also analyzing the opportunity to establish a production facility in Romania,” stated Constantin Pintilie.
Visitors to the BlueSpace Technology stand were also able to see live demonstrations of Romania’s first 100% domestically produced drone-jamming system. This non-kinetic, portable, and independent defensive equipment is designed to neutralize unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by disrupting the primary signals used by commercial UAS and S-UAS systems, with an effective range of 2 kilometers.
Other products showcased this year included the 360° Drone Detection System (CUAS), Kamikaze Drone, Rack 7U in Transit Case, Portable Drone Detector, Portable Rifle Jammer, Theissen Targets, TEMPEST Ruggedized Laptop, and Intriple equipment.

Marshall has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Romanian manufacturer, Bluespace Technology that will see them explore opportunities to partner on the design, development and integration of electromagnetic shielding and TEMPEST capabilities within containerised solutions.
The agreement was signed on-site today at the Black Sea Defense & Aerospace International Exhibition (BSDA) taking place in Bucharest, Romania.
The MoU covers areas where the two companies’ capabilities, products and services complement each other, and where their defence and business focus can be jointly expanded to provide end-to-end solutions to military customers.

Given the security incident at Mihail Kogălniceanu Airport, we believe it is crucial for Romania to be prepared for such situations.

Solutions for Romanian Research Presented at the Conference “Romania – The Pole of Research and Innovation”
Constantin PINTILIE, CEO of BlueSpace Technology, participated today, February 20th, in the conference “Romania – The Pole of Research and Innovation,” held at the Victoria Palace.
“Throughout history, technological innovations have transformed the way we live, work, and communicate. Our individual, professional, and personal future depends on our creative and innovative capacity,” stated Constantin Pintilie.
During his speech, the founder of BlueSpace Technology highlighted that in Romania, the school curriculum does not reflect the accelerated development of current technology and market needs. Young people choose to leave for countries where there is predictability:
“Everyone wonders why our youth are leaving? And not all, only those with exceptional results. Why do they leave? Because those who want to build something, those who want to develop in their careers, choose places where the social environment is based on predictable rules, on the desire to act. On this occasion, Constantin Pintilie proposed several concrete solutions to improve the quality of education and research:
• Introduction of a co-financing amount for all National Research and Development Institutes (INCDs) in technological development activities.
• Project topics to be proposed by SMEs or through employers’ associations.
• Launching funding lines for bringing products to the market.
• Public funds allocated for research and development activities to conclude with a supply contract of the product to the beneficiary, thus achieving a high-tech development of the product, product maturation, job creation, and implicitly a high profitability return on investment (ROI).
The event was attended by: Mircea Abrudean, Secretary-General of the Government of Romania, Florin Marian Spătaru, State Counselor, Laszlo Borbely, State Counselor, Silvia Monica Dinică, President of the Senate Committee on Science, Innovation, and Technology of Romania, academicians, experts, and representatives from the private sector.
