PRESS RELEASE – First Romanian armored vehicle VLAH: production of the VLAH begins
The Romanian company BlueSpace Technology announces an important update to the VLAH project.
“The prototype of the first combat vehicle produced in Romania is officially entering production. It is a significant progress of our project that we would like to announce publicly. Moreover, in the next period, our team, together with a team of partners from Zetor Engineering, will finalize the assembly of the VLAH’s running and gearing components and in the next stage we will be able to run the first functional tests”, said Constantin Pintilie, founder of BlueSpace Technology.
VLAH is a light armored 4×4 machine weighing 9 tons, part of the range of light armored tactical vehicles (ATBTU) developed by the Romanian company BlueSpace Technology in partnership with Zetor Engineering, an internationally famous machine manufacturer with 75 years of experience in the industry.
In the coming period, after delivery of all these components, the production of the truck will start in our Romanian site and the first functional tests will be carried out.
In March this year, the negotiation on the acquisition of the main chassis components was concluded, namely the engine (Mercedes), gearbox, transmission box (both ZF Friedrichshafen AG), axles (Advanced Design Solution) and so on.
The vehicle meets the needs of the technological and defense industry in the country and will be the largest project in the Romanian automotive industry.
The VLAH started in 2022 and is scheduled for completion in 2024. The production and assembly of the armor will be entirely carried out in Romania by BlueSpace Technology, the Romanian leader in innovative security and defense solutions, the only NATO accredited company and the only private TEMPEST equipment manufacturer in Eastern Europe.
